Non-traditional Lynchburg Wedding Dresses?
When looking for the perfect Lynchburg wedding dress for our wedding, you can scoured the internet for ideas whenever there was any free time. If you hit so many websites that some of the ideas were shocking to me and my narrower views on what wedding dresses were supposed to be. You might even remember thinking, who would want to wear a white pantsuit on their wedding day, and not a big beautiful white wedding dress? But the more you think about it, having a big white beautiful wedding dress isn’t everyone’s idea of the perfect wedding dress, and why should brides be uncomfortable and not loving their dress on their big day? The fact is, whatever you choose to wear on your wedding day should be exactly what you want, and what goes along best with your big day. It just wouldn’t do to have a huge white wedding dress for a beach wedding. You’ll get the bottom of your dress all dirty and maybe ruin the dress. So here are some great ideas for non-traditional wedding dresses.
1. The Pantsuit
Okay, to be completely honest, I’m still not a big fan of the Lynchburg wedding dress pantsuit. But, if you are like a lot of women out there who can’t stand to be in a dress or anything like it, then a pantsuit might just be for you. Most of the pantsuits I’ve seen either in weddings or on the web are completely tasteful, and a better idea in some wedding scenarios than others. Wearing longer flowing pants with pumps or other strappy white sandals can be really classy, and you’ll still stand out from your guests.
2. The Sundress
This is most popularly used in beach weddings and more casual Lynchburg wedding ceremonies. Like I’ve said before, a large white wedding dress and sand may not work so well together. You’ll look just as lovely in a white wedding sundress with a floral headpiece as you would in a church surrounded by family and friends. Also, a casual wedding can make a traditional wedding dress look totally out of place. A great benefit of the wedding sundress, you can get it anywhere. Department stores and other stores will be much less costly than your typical wedding dress.
3. The Short Dress
If you’ve got the legs and a fashion taste that is different than most, then a shorter dress might be for you. I’ve seen mini dresses with longer capes in the back which look like something from off of a runway in Paris or something. If that’s not your style, then go with something that is only a shorter white dress. Remember, its about you being most comfortable on your big day.
4. The Dress with Color
I consider this a Non-traditional wedding dress, though some may not. To the traditional viewpoint, wedding dresses should be completely white, a symbol of purity. However, many brides today are choosing wedding dresses that are mostly white but with a small splash of color to match their bridesmaids.
5. The Colored wedding Dress
Not quite the same as my last point, the colored wedding dress has nearly no white in it. This is especially popular for brides in second or third weddings. This could be your case, or else you just don’t want to wear white, and would rather wear a light tan color or color of your own choosing.
Whatever you decide to do, let your wedding reflect you and your future husband’s own unique tastes. Just because some family members or friends may not agree with your choice, it’s still your wedding and not theirs. Once the Lynchburg wedding is said and done, you don’t want to wish you had done something different.
Letting the Groom Have a Say
Considering the multitude of aspects to consider and details to iron out when planning a Lynchburg wedding, it is easy to see how those who are planning the Lynchburg wedding can get overwhelmed.

One of the first things that you should do when you are considering Lynchburg wedding invitations and making your final choice is to think about whether you are having a formal Lynchburg wedding or a more informal Lynchburg wedding. If you are having a formal black tie Lynchburg wedding, it will never do to send out informal invitations. On the other hand, if you are having an informal Lynchburg wedding, formal invitations may look overdone for what you are planning.
Formal Style
Picking a formal style and formal paper for your Lynchburg wedding invitations carries over the thought that you are having a formal Lynchburg wedding. Lighter styles and papers will give your guests the informal feel that you are trying to have at
your Lynchburg wedding.
Considering your personal style and the style of your Lynchburg wedding is also important when you are choosing Lynchburg wedding invitations. If you have certain colors in mind for your Lynchburg wedding you may want to use those colors on your Lynchburg wedding invitations. Perhaps you are having a Lynchburg wedding in which green and purple are your colors. Carrying the green and purple over to your invitations is a great way to give your guests a tiny peek at what your Lynchburg wedding may be like. While you do not have to match your invitations to your Lynchburg wedding colors, this does look classy. Otherwise you may just want to pick Lynchburg wedding invitations in a favorite color or that has the look of your gown or some other aspect of the Lynchburg wedding.
Lynchburg wedding Theme
You should also keep your Lynchburg wedding theme in mind when you are choosing your Lynchburg wedding invitations. Whether you are having a beach Lynchburg wedding, a country Lynchburg wedding, a garden Lynchburg wedding, or a big church Lynchburg wedding, you should keep the theme in mind. Try to coordinate the theme and style of your Lynchburg wedding invitations to the theme that you are having of your Lynchburg wedding. Things To Remember When Buying Your Lynchburg Wedding Cake
One of the most thought about aspects of any wedding is the wedding cake. Every bride wants their Lynchburg wedding cake to be the focal point of the wedding reception table and something that guests will admire and talk about even after the wedding day.
With so many designs and styles available plus the added option to customize and accessorize your wedding cake to suit your wedding theme the options are truly endless.
Before you embark on enrolling someone with the job of creating your cake it is worth making preliminary decisions before hand. Having an idea of what your budget is and what sort of cake you have in mind could save you a considerable amount of time. Do you know what filling the cake will have? Sponge or fruit cake? Do you want a tiered cake? If so how may tiers do you want for your wedding cake?. Having a few of these details already decided will help both you and the caterer you decide to employ.
Although it is a good idea to have ideas in mind, stay open to suggestions from the professionals, they may suggest something you may never have considered and that something could turn out to be your perfect Lynchburg wedding cake.
When you are ready to see the cake decorator or caterer (most should see you for a consultation free of charge) ask to see photos of their designs and do not be afraid to ask for something different or mix two styles together, most caterers should be happy to oblige.
Most wedding cakes are decorated with white icing but if your theme is pink or a different color there is no reason why the icing on your cake should not match it.
Once you have chosen the filling for your wedding cake you then need to start thinking about a topper, the days of the imitation plastic bride and groom are long gone! Nowadays these cake toppers can be custom made and created to look exactly like the bride and groom, even down to the brides dress!.
Most wedding cake designers will need all decisions made and finalized three to six months before the event. I would strongly recommend having all items ordered six months in advance to allow for any changes that may need to be make and piece of mind for you.
You will need to budget well for your wedding cake, remember the cost of the cake is normally separate to the decorator’s fee, it is also wise to ask if there is any charge for having the Lynchburg wedding cake delivered so every outlay will be covered in your budget.
What ever design or style you choose the wedding cake plays such an important role in the wedding day, having the perfect wedding cake to slice with your partner will make the day extra special.
After the wedding cake has been cut and enjoyed by the guests remember to keep your Lynchburg wedding cake topper safe, this keepsake will always remind you of your perfect day, and who knows, it could be passed down to your children to use on their special day.
Photojournalist vs. Traditional
Is your Wedding Formal, Semi-Formal or Informal
Haven’t thought of it yet? Well get going! What are you waiting for? Knowing this will give you a better indication on what to look for in a wedding photographer.
Traditional Photographers for a Formal Style
There is no law written in stone, but if you are having a formal wedding, you would probably want to hire a more traditional wedding photographer. Almost all pictures are posed for and perfect down to the last detail therefore accentuating dignity and grace. The downside to this is that the those spontaneous and special moments may not be captured, because candid shots are less likely to be taken.
A Traditional and Photojournalist Balance
If you are having a semi-formal wedding you probably should look for a photographer who has a balance of both traditional and photojournalist styles. That way the photographer can capture the light-hearted moments while still creating that elegant feel with traditional classical photography. Take a good look at his portfolio. Is he equally good at both or does he lean strongly towards one or the other?
Photojournalists for an Informal Style
Are you having a informal wedding? More likely than not, you’ll have more light-hearted fun than in a formal setting. These rare moments are captured far better if you hire a wedding photojournalist, because he is capturing your day as it happens. The down side is that he may catch you at an awkward not so pretty moment and its more expensive. Being that you chose an informal wedding, this may not bother you as much.
Check the Photographer’s References
This cannot be stated enough. Going by a portfolio is not enough. Call up his references. You’ll be surprised at how many wedding vendors give references of clients who were not that happy with their service! Research the national Better Business Bureau. Is there a multitude of complaints? If there was one complaint, was it resolved? (Well at that point you might want to look elsewhere regardless. Why take chances.) Please ask a lot of questions.
Choose the Photography Style You Want
OK so what was the point with all of the above? These are guidelines. It is perfectly legal to hire a wedding photojournalist for a formal wedding and vice versa. If you are looking to capture more candid shots at a formal wedding you could still go with a photographer who has a mix of skills. Your photographs may give off a more semi-formal aura as a result though. Just remember to take your time.
How To Interview A Wedding Photographer
The Lynchburg photographer is going to be your employee in many ways, so you will need to be absolutely sure that this is a person that you can trust with your wedding pictures. Treat him or her like a job applicant and see how you interact with each other.
Making a list
You can find a list of wedding Lynchburg photographers in your local phone book, but it
The Truth about an iPod Wedding
As is often the case in society, some things or ideas become trendy with little thought to practical implementation. A few years ago, it was the idea of a “sponsored wedding” that somehow everyone would want to donate their services to you in the hopes of getting business from others. Sounds like a good idea, but never really took off because all the vendors realized that a sponsored wedding only generated more requests for sponsored weddings, not more business for them. So people that overspent on some items counting on the reception being paid for by others soon were in trouble as their budget was gone and they were still missing major parts of their event program.
Today, the trendy topic is DIY receptions by using an ipod and a rented sound system instead of a professional wedding entertainer, the DJ. This idea is fraught with peril, because a great event is more than simply gear and music. It is the talent that a qualified professional brings to the event that matters most. It is what allows for a smooth flow to the event, with no embarrassing surprises. A Professional DJ from the ADJA provides you with confidence that your event will flow smoothly and will be an event that you, your family and guests will never forget, instead of one they would like to.
In order to show you, the consumer the effects of using an ipod, we decided to let video tell the story. What you are about to see is real. It is video from an actual wedding where they chose to use an ipod. The video is untouched other than to insert some dialogue slides from time to time. We hope that by it you will clearly see what happens when you gamble your event success on an ipod.

What to expect from a Lynchburg DJ Service
Chances are this is your first time hiring a Lynchburg Disc Jockey Service. Many people are tempted to ask (What is your price?) for their first question when interviewing a prospective Lynchburg Disc Jockey service. This is not the best way to start your interview. Price is important but not the determining factor. You want to get all of the information and the most for your money. One potential DJ may charge less because the company is less experienced or is not as well equipped to handle your function. Some DJ services charge more because their service has a great reputation and may have many bookings. They may also have an exceptional sound and light show and many years of experience. Remember the law of supply and demand. There is Shop around and look for the best over all package that fits you. We have put together this list of questions to help you interview prospective DJ services. We hope you find the professional that is right for you!
1. Do you use professional pro audio gear? What are some of the brand names you use?
The DJ tells you name brands that you can buy at the local electronic store (Best Buy, Circuit City etc. ) chances are they are not using pro audio gear. Home Hi-Fi gear is not made to hold up to the demands of repeat performances of professional use.
2. Do you provide back up gear in case of an emergency?
Chances are nothing will happen at your event, but if it does, is your DJ prepared to trouble shoot the problem? Do they have back-up equipment on location to get the party back on track? (They should have extra cables, fuses, basic tools, CD player, amplifier, mixer, etc.).
3. Ask them if their DJ service is insured?
If the service is professional and reputable, they will be insured. Most DJ services will at least have liability insurance for $1,000,000. Some will also have their equipment insured.
4. Are we guaranteed the DJ of our choice the day of the event?
Some DJ companies have more than one DJ working for them. While the company may have been in business for years, your DJ may have been hired last week, so be sure who you are getting. Most companies have references on the specific DJ who will be assigned to your event.
5. How many years of experience do you have?
This is a commonly asked question. The question should be how many events have you performed at? A seasoned DJ will have performed at hundreds of events.
6. May we call three of your references?
A good DJ service keeps current references. The list that they provide for you should have at least ten or more names and not be more than six months old. This is a good indicator of the quality you can expect. If you are not comfortable with calling strangers, ask if they have any banquet halls, photographer, or video services that recommend them. Most banquet halls, photographers and videographers work with a lot of different DJ services every weekend.
7. How will you be dressed?
Specify the type of apparel that your Lynchburg Disc Jockey is expected to wear for your occasion. Formal attire or coat & tie are the most popular forms of attire. If you are having a “themed” event, make sure your entertainer is informed.
8. How early will you be Set-Up?
Most DJ services like to have the opportunity to do a sound and light check before any guests arrive. The last thing you want is a DJ hauling equipment through your receiving line and or guests.
9. Ask if they allow requests from you and your guests?
Consider the policy of requests. The best DJs will take requests form the audience and work them into their routine. But don’t expect the DJ to play every request. An excellent DJ blends requests with songs that will get your guests up and moving.
10. What type of music is available?
Remember it is not the number of CDs, Tapes or Albums they carry but the content of the media. Ask them how many hit songs they carry and what type of music they have. Ask them how do they stay current with the new hits. A good DJ service will carry a wide variety of music and will have as many as 2000 hits or more. There are professional DJ services like Promo Only and Hot Hits that are available to professional DJs. These services provide the latest hits played on the radio stations with new additions released monthly. Remember that during the dancing segment of your reception a DJ will average 65 to 75 songs, so you should hear nothing but hits all night long. This will keep your dance floor full all night and everyone will have a great time.
11. Do you provide a written contract?
It is extremely important to have your booking confirmed in writing . Ask for a written agreement, especially if you are paying an initial retainer. The standard initial payment for entertainment services is 50%. If you are expecting a specific entertainer, make sure you get it in writing as well.
